The company Albrecht Bäumer develops and produces special machines and plants for the processing of polyurethane foams. In our core areas of cutting, gluing, processing and transporting, it is our goal to offer customers perfect solutions. Our production control system 'Sophie', developed for the foam industry, networks the entire foam production, increases production efficiency, transparency and safety.

Créaction is a small internationally operating company and focusus on the identification and realisation of promising new technologies. Additionaly, Créaction generates applied creativity sessions with validation/optimization of new concepts, manages specifications and co-develops prototypes. Together with international partners, they developed a robotic concept directly mimicing insect behaviours. Furthermore, Créaction supports companies in cross-sectoral transfer of ideas, know-how, processes and products.

Fraunhofer IPT combines knowledge and experience from all areas of production technology and offers at the location in Aachen applied research and development services for cross-linked and adaptive production. Fraunhofer IPT considers the entirety of the processes as well as the individual links of the process chains. The business activities encompass the current challenges of diverse industrial sectors, technologies and product ranges such as tool and mold construction, optical industry, turbo-machine construction, life sciences engineering as well as lightweight production engineering.

Environmental protection and technical progress from a single source. HYDROTECHNIK LÜBECK are water engineering specialists who combine environmental protection with technical progress. Along with oil booms, compressed air barriers, ice prevention systems and the creation of complete protection systems for desalination plants, underwater noise insulation is our most important field of activity. It was for this purpose that we developed the Big Bubble Curtain – a versatile compressed air system for reducing noise emissions during offshore pile-driving, but also for protecting marine wildlife during blasting to remove munitions.

The institute focuses on mechanical engineering, textile process engineering, high-performance fibre materials, textile preforming, composites, polymer and medical technology, smart textiles and joining as well as simulation and measurement technology. ITA develops solutions from fibre to textile products for the fields of mobility, building & living, health, energy & environment, information & communication, production engineering and materials engineering. Furthermore, the ITA acts as a qualification service provider in academic teaching and industrial training as well as advanced training for industry professionals. The ITA is interdisciplinary, industry and internationally oriented.

The Research Centre Materia Nova is a non-profit organization with the following skills:

• Biopolymers and polymer nanocomposites: blends synthesis, polymer formulations, bio-sourced plastics from lab to pilot scale
• Interface biotechnology: biological interface phenomena for increased proliferative properties of materials
• Plasma surface treatments: strongly ionised plasmas for an improved quality of the thin films
• Anticorrosion treatments: trivalent chromium coatings, self-healing surfaces, self-assembled films, sol-gel silicon-based compounds
• Organic semiconductors: transparent organic electroluminescent diodes, photovoltaic cells and other organic optical electronic devices

Metallguss Herpers GmbH specialises on aluminium casting with the highest level of difficulty. The realisation of highly demanding customer requirements expand the limits of the state of the art, for example casting with numerous cores or precision casting with high repeat accuracy with wall thicknesses from 1 mm. Thinner walls can also be reproducibly produced, but their application depends on the operational load profile. The business activities range from prototypes over semi-finished goods to finished products for mechanical engineering, vehicle manufacturing, aerospace applications and the electrical industry.

OPPOLD SYSTEM is a company from Southern Germany specialised on the development and production of tools for the solid wood processing. Oppold belongs to the globally leading producers of tools systems for window and door manufacturing. For over 120 years, Oppold deals successfully with the increasing demands for flexible tool systems as a reliable partner for industry and craft. The product range includes simple tools for wood processing as well as flexible and highly complex tool systems for CNC machining centres. A comprehensive assortment of standard tools completes the product range.

Taktilesdesign GmbH has expertise in the development of textured surfaces for functional applications and design. We create surface textures for moulding, transportation, furniture and product design. Especially for black marking, antireflective and hydrodynamic effects. we rely on the latest technology such as ultrashort pulse laser. Taktilesdesign delivers texture data ready for production for additive manufacturing and laser engraving based upon your CAD Data.

Within a project, we create greyscale data from given samples or own creative development with indifferent depth variations. With a mapping process, the texture is projected upon the surface and distortions are reduced.
